Kvass Fermentation Workshop and Community Potluck

January 11, 2026 | 1-4pm | MOFGA Common Ground Education Center, Unity | FREE

Join Maine Ferments for a potluck followed by a hands-on workshop exploring kvass, a traditional fermented beverage with roots in Eastern European food preservation practices. Participants will learn accessible fermentation techniques using bread, seasonal fruit, or root vegetables, and create their own batch to take home.

This free community workshop combines practical skill-building with shared meals, fostering food literacy and strengthening connections within Maine’s local food community. All experience levels welcome.

Bring a dish to share for the potluck and a quart jar with tight-fitting lid for taking kvass home.

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly! Registered participants will be notified of any weather-related rescheduling.
